~*My Wonderful Birthday*~

Yesterday was my birthday.  It was one of the most wonderful birthdays I have ever had.  This past year has been a real coming of age year for me, getting to know myself and to know happiness.  And my birthday turned out to be a day or surprises.  I was spoiled, by Mike and a lot of you.

First, to fully appreciate my night, you have to understand what a geek I am.  I love dragons, knights, swords, spells, princesses and fairies.  So when Mike asked what I wanted to do for my birthday, I immediately said I wanted to go to Medieval Times (I had never been).  So last night, we went with another couple - and had fun (although I think from watching too many movies I expected more blood and grim, but I guess in real life you can not have that).  Mike bought me everything, the silly photo (where we all look goofy, see below), souvenirs, beer (most importantly) and I had so much fun!  At work we had a quick party and my favorite coconut cake from this local incredible bakery... yum, I just had a piece of leftover cake before I started writing this post!

Silly Photo!

As I said, I was spoiled with gifts.  Mike got me a ring from my favorite store, but it was too small and larger sizes were back ordered, so I am getting this one now, and in June when the one he picked out is available in my size he is going to get it for me.  He also got me an external hard drive which I have been REALLY wanting and could not afford.

Julia, the better half of the couple we went out with (sorry Dan!) made me a beautiful necklace and matching earrings.

Yvonne sent me a great gift... the gift of shopping... by sending a very generous gift certificate to one of my favorite shops on the internet.  I am not sure what to get yet, I look everyday but have been unable to commit to something!

Jes, sweet Jes, who knows my love for blue wallets sent me a great blue wallet, and a beautiful photo album which I hope to start filling tonight, AND a journal, which a girl like me can never have too many of.  Amazing someone can know me so well and I have never met them in person!

The ever so talented Carrie sent me a magical box of treats, one of her hand made elephants, Emmie, who is dressed up in a lovely pink party dress with a hat and present, and some whimsical magic wands (another thing a girl like me can never have enough of).

Giao - not only sent me a great "Do You Remember Book" (Which I have already spent at least an hour looking through and may be the source of future Question of the Weeks) but also sent me a pink box full of The Walrus & The Carpenter treats - A dreamy eye pillow, wax melts, solid sent (red currant, hmmm it smells wonderful) , bath butter cups and my favorite, a little dream pillow "handmade for Hope.  Filled with poly stuffing, lavender, love & hope".  It has an H on it, and it is made from the prettiest fabric.

I also got tons of cards, including an adorable collage made by Sarah of The Small Object.  I also got mail art from Camilla (which was not an actual birthday thing, just really great timing).

I love EVERYTHING, and I am so happy.  Thank you all - I will be sending out formal thank you cards (I am a bit slow on that), but I had to share my wonderful gifts with everyone!  Thanks everyone also for your cards, ecards, emails, comments and well wishes for my birthday.  It has been a hard year, but worth it in so many ways!  You all made my birthday very special!
